We are working with Capital Area Health Network (CAHN), our University-based healthcare provider, and following the recommendations from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) as well as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Vaccine Eligibility: Governor Northam announced that as April 18, everyone aged 16 and older in the Commonwealth is eligible to be vaccinated. Virginians can go to www.vaccinate.virginia.org or call the hotline (877-829-4682) to schedule an appointment. The University is also happy to announce that starting Friday May 7th , in conjunction with the Virginia Department of Health, VUU will be a community-based Vaccination Site.
All VUU Affiliates will be able participate. Please remember that we require ALL Campus-Based faculty and staff members to complete the Employee Daily Wellness Checkbased on the days that you work. The form MUST be completed BEFORE you arrive on campus. All who answer YES to any of the screening questions must immediately contact VUU Office of Human Resource and Talent Management at (804)257-5834 and should NOT report to campus until they receive further guidance.
The University’s spring 2021 approach to the reopening plan includes: Maintain appropriate social distancing, staying at least (6) six feet away from others when possible. Face coverings are mandatory while on campus indoors and outdoors. IDs must always be carried with you and parking decals clearly displayed. All appointments will be virtual and only in emergency cases will on campus in person appointments be allowed. Strict physical and social distancing measures will be adhered to throughout the campus.
Facemasks are required on campus indoors and outdoors. No business travel shall be permitted unless approved by the President. On-campus visitation is prohibited The campus is closed to nonresidential students and non-campus-based employees. Campus Curfew will be 11:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
Travel Form: Must be completed to notify the university of your travel plans to areas at risk and/or affected by COVID-19.
Appointment Request: Must be completed for all who require an approved appointment to enter campus.
