At VUU, We Believe Mentorship Is Transformational!

Rooted in our student success model based on Nine Noble achievements, VUU Mentoring Program pairs campus-based mentoring pedagogy with community transformation.Housed in our comprehensive Workforce Development & Training department, the Mentoring Program is a robust, multi-tiered innovation developed to not only help our students increase WISDOM and post-graduation success, but to also develop leaders while transforming the lives of youth in our surrounding communities.

Campus Mentoring

Peer-to-peer Group mentoring for all Freshmen and Sophomore students at VUU.  Participants benefit from meaningful and supportive peer relationship to, enhanced the experience of college life.  P2P begins with a pre-orientation experience and continues throughout their years as a student at VUU. Profession AcademicOne on One mentoring for  students (Juniors) led by faculty and staff members, to encourage career aspirations, development of meaningful relationships, and greater insight into their academic major Professional mentoringOne on One mentoring  for students (Seniors) conducted by working professionals to provide a best-in-class experience for students to allow career exploration, pre-alumni development, and increased networking potential before graduation.  

Community Mentoring

Reynolds/VUU Community Mentoring Initiative is designed to create equity and opportunities for underrepresented communities by creating an educational  pipeline to develop youth through mentoring. Services will connect youth within the community ]  to VUU students by inspiring  growth, confidence, and brighter futures.
